Apprenticeships Queensland Limited is a Group Training Company, providing employment opportunities for apprentices and trainees across a broad range of vocational areas, through partnerships with host trainers.
What is Group Training?
A group training company provides employment to apprentices and trainees under a training contract registered with the state government and places them with host employers. These employers range in size from micro-businesses to large corporations.
The group training concept allows the apprentice or trainee to either complete their entire tenure at the same employer or rotate through a series of employers should they not be able to access the full range of skills at one organisation.
It also allows business the flexibility to respond to market demands by returning the apprentice to the group training company during a downturn. The apprentice is then re-assigned to another placement to complete their apprenticeship. The apprentices get continuity of work, and the host employers can respond quickly to labour market demands. This is a win-win for both parties.
Apprenticeships Queensland is a member of The Group Training Association of Qld and NT, which, in turn, is part of the national body, Group Training Australia, representing the interests of over 150 group training companies in all states.
Well over 35,000 businesses use group training for their apprentices and trainees, and the national network has over 41,000 apprentices and trainees placed in employment. It is the largest employer of apprentices and trainees in Australia.
Apprenticeships Queensland complies with the National Standards for Group Training Organisations and is eligible to use the “Quality Group Training” logo.
