Dave Handyside

Dave Handyside – General Manager

Dave started with the company in 1988 as a Field Officer, successfully making the transition to Manager, then General Manager.  With 23 years experience in the group training industry, he is also President of the Group Training Association of Queensland and Northern Territory, and a Director of Group Training Australia Limited.

Matt Costello – Corporate Services Manager

As a CPA, Matt provides financial administration support to the General Manager in the implementation of Board policies and strategic objectives, and supervises the workload of the Administration team.  With a background in the club industry prior to starting at AQ in 2007, Matt’s broad experience gives him a well-grounded approach to group training.

Wendy Tierney

Wendy Tierney – Employment Services Manager

From Placement Officer to Employment Consultant to Employment Services Manager, Wendy has achieved much since starting with AQ in 2002. Her extraordinary abilities were formally recognised in 2007 when she won the Field Officer of the Year, awarded by the GTAQ&NT. Wendy’s current role is very challenging as she is responsible for the overall performance of the field team, and manages the team workload.

Lorraine Browning

Lorraine Browning - Payroll Officer

With extensive administration experience in retail, construction and engineering, Lorraine started at AQ in 1999 as a payroll specialist, and continues in this role to date.  She is responsible for the processing of a weekly payroll of approx 300 people across a range of vocational areas with differing awards and workplace agreements.  She is also our guru on industrial relations, WorkCover and Rehab issues.

Karen Payne

Karen Payne – Systems Coordinator

From a varied background in administration, training and WH&S, Karen started at AQ in 2001 in the accounts area, then transitioned to systems documentation and implementation, first with the ISO standards, and later to ensure AQ met the requirements of the National Standards for Group Training Organisations.

Anita Dwyer – Marketing and Recruitment

Since starting at AQ in 2007, Anita’s creative flair with marketing material has been solidly utilised in her role at AQ.  An enthusiastic promoter of group training and AQ, her experience in SATS and recruitment is invaluable in securing a steady flow of suitable applicants, and increased awareness of AQ’s role in the community.

Donna Templeton

Donna Templeton JP (Qual) – Work Heath & Safety Officer

Donna has worked for Apprenticeships Queensland for 9 years and until recently was an Administration Assistant to our Employment Consultants. Donna is a Work Health & Safety Officer (WHSO) and is currently studying the Certificate IV to come in line with the new National Harmonisation requirements commences on 1 January 2012.

Donna’s role as Safety Advisor with Apprenticeships Queensland was developed to support our host employers and give any assistance they might need with the ever changing Work Health & Safety arena. She is available to visit host workplaces on request to advise on any Work Health & Safety issues.

Mike Williams

Mike Williams - Employment Consultant

Mike came to AQ in 2006 from a varied employment background, including agriculture and warehousing, both in Australia and the UK, where he was a Warehouse Manager.  His portfolio is predominately construction, and he has forged strong relationships with both our existing hosts, apprentices and trainees, and the new people he has introduced to the benefits of group training.

AndyD

Andy Daintith– Employment Consultant

Andy is an excellent example of the benefits of having a trade. Starting in avionics while still at school, Andy switched to carpentry through an AQ apprenticeship.  As a licensed carpenter, Andy ran his own business specialising in architecturally designed houses, before returning to AQ in 2010 as an Employment Consultant. He has excellent trade knowledge and understands the needs of both employers and apprentices.

 Greg Sutton - Employment Consultant

Greg has joined the team in the construction area, managing the large pool of carpenters.  Greg has beeing involved with Brothers Rugby League for many years as coach and the skills of coaching will be invaluable when mentoring our young apprentices.  Greg has also been involved in he own photography business in recent years.

Di joined Apprenticeships Queensland from the education department. Prior to this she has managed her own business for 10 years.  Di brings with her years of industry and school knowledge and will be a great assist to the organisation.

Laraine Corrigan – Accounts Officer

Since starting at AQ early in 2008, Laraine has been the "go-to" person in our busy accounting area, quite a departure from her previous long-term role in the banking industry.  When she came to AQ she had a desire to do “something different”, and her solid data entry skills and customer service focus have been invaluable.

Judy Greene – Administration Officer

Judy started with AQ in 2000 as a School-based Employment Consultant, building successful relationships with schools and establishing SATS as a key strategic component of the business.  Since moving into an administration role, Judy has used her considerable industry knowledge to provide support and assistance to both Payroll and Accounts, as well as assisting the general public at our Reception desk.

Kyly Beauclerc

Kyly Beauclerc – Administration Officer

Kyly came to AQ in 2009 from a front desk role in the real estate industry. She has built on this customer service experience in her busy role as administration support to our Employment Consultants where her organisational skills and focus on key tasks keeps the wheels turning smoothly. Kyly is a keen sportsperson outside of work.

Jessica Stephan

Jessica Stephan – Administration Officer

Jessica joined AQ on completion of her university studies in 2010, having experienced the not-for-profit, community based arena in the capacity of a personal assistant while at uni. Jessica’s role is pivotal to the success of the Employment Consultant she assists, and her organisational skills and good humour help to smooth out any rough patches in the day.

Kim has joind the organisation with many years of experience in the training sector. Kim works closely with the Employment Consultants in the engineering and traineeship area in an adminstration support and monitoring role.

Nadine Muller – Payroll Officer / EC Support

Nadine had extensive experience in the real estate industry before commencing in the Payroll section at AQ late in 2010. Nadine loves a challenge and has quickly become an integral part of the administration team. Her willingness to occupy dual roles sees her job-share with another staff member at Reception outside of payroll-processing hours.

Miranda Eales – Accounts Officer (Part Time)

Miranda brought varied administration skills and experience to AQ when she started with us late in 2010, and has since become an essential team member in the accounts area. Her efficiency and easy-going manner is welcomed by all, and she balances her accounts background with a job-share role at Reception.
